    This policy applies to all visitors of Playbox and users of the services that we offer ("you" and "your").

      1. This Privacy Policy describes the data protection practices of Playbox (“Playbox,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy applies to information that we collect and use about you when you access or use the Playbox website, mobile application, or other online or mobile service that links to or otherwise presents this Privacy Policy to you.         13. Log-in credentials if you create a Playbox account
        14. Billing information, such as shipping address of a gift card recipient, credit or debit card number, verification number, zip code, and expiration date
        15. Information about your customer service interactions with us
        16. Any other information you choose to directly provide to us in connection with your use of Playbox Services

Playbox collects information about and via applications, browsers, and devices you use to access our services, the information we collect includes unique identifiers, browser type and settings, device type and settings, operating system, mobile network information including carrier name and phone number, and application version number.
        18. Playbox also collect information about the interaction of your applications, browsers, and devices with our services, including IP address, crash reports, system activity, and the date, time.
      2. This excludes such personal information such as:
        1. non-personal statistical information collected and compiled by us and information that you have provided voluntarily in an open, public environment or forum including (without limitation) any blog, chat room, community, classifieds, or discussion board. As the information has been disclosed in a public forum, it is no longer confidential and does not constitute personal information subject to protection under this policy.
      3. We will collect Personal Information from you when you register as a user and/ or visit our website.
      4. If you are below the age of eighteen (18), please ensure that you get permission from a parent or guardian before you use our website or give us your Personal Information. We may request your parent/guardian's contact details to verify that you have permission. If we cannot verify that you have permission, we may refuse to allow you to use our website.
      5. Playbox will not use or disclose Personal Information provided to us pursuant to this Privacy Policy in ways other than the ones described in this Privacy Policy, without informing you and providing you with the opportunity to consent to such modified conditions concerning the use and disclosure of your Personal Information.

      You must accept all the terms of this policy when you register as a user. You are deemed to have read, understood, accepted, and agreed to be bound by all its terms.

    4. CHANGES

      We may change the terms of this policy at any time. We will notify you of any changes by placing a notice in a prominent place on the website or by email. If you do not agree with the change, you must stop using the services. If you continue to use the services following notification of a change to the terms, the changed terms will apply to you and you will be deemed to have accepted such terms.

      2. Our service providers under contract who help with parts of our business operations (fraud prevention, bill collection, marketing, technology services).       3. With regard to Regulators, if you contact us regarding your experience with using any of our products, we may disclose your personal information as required by law or governmental audit.

      8. Employees: We may need to disclose personal information to our employees that require the personal information to do their jobs.

We use session cookies (which disappear after you close your browser) and persistent cookies (which remain after you close your browser and can be removed manually) and may be used by your browser on subsequent visits to our website. From time to time, we will request you to update your personal information on the website.     2. Please note that in order to better protect you and safeguard your personal information, we do take steps to verify your identity before granting you access to your account or making any corrections to your personal information.
    3. You may choose to correct or update the personal information you have submitted to us, by clicking the menu on any of the pages on our website.

    We keep your information for no longer than necessary for the purposes for which it is processed. The length of time for which we retain information depends on the purposes for which we collected and used it and/or as required to comply with applicable laws.


    Playbox takes technical and organisational security measures to protect the information provided via the Services from loss, misuse, and unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no Internet or email transmission is ever fully secure or error-free. Please keep this in mind when disclosing any information to Playbox via the Internet.


    5.1 At any time, you may request that Playbox delete your Personal Information from the mailing list and/or platform.
    5.2. In order for your Personal Information to be deleted by Playbox, you will be required to send an email to [email protected] requesting the deletion.
    5.3. Once Playbox has received your request, you will receive the following form to complete, in compliance with the POPI Act: “ FORM 2 Request for Correction or Deletion of Personal Information or Destroying or Deletion of Record of Personal Information in Terms of Section 24(1) of the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (Act No. 4 of 2013).”
    5.4. Kindly ensure that you complete all information required on FORM 2 and send the completed FORM 2 to Playbox using the same email address as stated above.
    5.5. Once Playbox has received the correctly completed FORM 2, your Personal Information shall be deleted within 5 (Five) to 7 (Seven) working days.
    5.6. Once your information has been deleted, you will receive confirmation that your Personal Information has been deleted.


    We may transfer certain Personal Information outside the geographic borders of South Africa to service providers for purposes set out above (How do we use your Personal Information?), including for data storage and backup purposes to ensure the integrity of our systems. When we transfer your Personal Information outside of the geographic borders of South Africa, we will ensure that we do so in accordance with the requirements for lawful transfer outside of South Africa as set out in POPI. By accessing and using our website, you consent to us transferring your Personal Information outside of South Africa as set out in POPI.
